Steve and Amy Shoop are missionaries in Guadalajara, Mexico. After 23 years of working with young people as youth pastors and as missionaries, the Shoops worked to develop "Engage in Missions." They strongly believe the key to reaching this world with the Good News of Jesus Christ is through young people.
"Engage is a program where U.S. college students come to Mexico right out of high school to take their first two years of college through online courses, while being actively engaged in ministry amongst the Mexican people. Their college work is overseen by a Christian college in the U.S. that monitors their progress, with professors making periodic visits. “Engage” exists to empower a generation to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world while being responsible to provide a quality, accredited education.” The Shoops are also working to expand the “Engage” program to other countries; 7 countries presently. This year the Shoops are residing in Wenatchee as Steve continues to travel and promote the “Engage” program.
